The Caravan Club have announced that their 2012 National Rally at Eastnor Castle, Ledbury, between 1st - 6th June, has been cancelled.
As a result of the recent rain, the site is currently waterlogged and, with set up due to start this week, it is not possible for the essential rally infrastructure to be constructed as it is virtually impossible for vehicles to move around the site, let alone the heavy commercial vehicles delivering marquees and generators.
In addition, even if they had been able to get the infrastructure set up despite the difficult conditions, The Caravan Club believe that with more rain forecast and with over 9,000 members due to arrive, there would be a high risk of vehicles getting stuck and that this would clearly affect members' experience of the event.
This decision to cancel has not been taken lightly. It is indeed a bitter disappointment for all concerned with the event, but in consultation with members of the Executive Committee, The Caravan Club have made this decision in the best interests of members and The Club as a whole.
Late availability
There is still availability across the site network for the Bank Holiday weekend, and you might also like to consider the Certificated Location network and Centre Rallies that will be taking place over the holiday weekend.

If you have already booked, The Club will automatically refund in full your fees and entertainment ticket costs by the original payment method where possible. The Caravan Club have in excess of 2,300 refunds to process in booking date order. Their aim is to ensure all refunds are made prior to what would have been the start date of the National.
As you can imagine, the Events Team at East Grinstead is now faced with the sad and mammoth task of standing-down this event, which has been operationally in planning for over twelve months
The Caravan Club are, however, delighted to announce that the 2013 National will be held at Belvoir Castle, Grantham and they most sincerely hope to see you there. See more details on The Caravan Clubs website
