We are looking to sell our caravan off site. We've had an offer but need to disconnect services and remove to adjacent road. The park will not move the van offsite but will disconnect the water, sewerage and electricity at a cost of £900. I think this extortionate and we would still need to remove the van off site. We are in the York area. Does anyone know a company who could accommodate us?
Hi. Thanks for your reply. I've read NACO info online
They suggest getting alternative quotes and then going back to the park. We could also go to the trading standards.
Unfortunately in these sort of circumstances the site owners usually have everything sewn-up in their favour. The usual excuse for not allowing anyone else to do it is that "they may damage someone else's property". As it is their land they are at liberty to say who is allowed to come on and who isn't and there is usually not much you can do about it.
It is unusual for the site not to remove units from the site. Normally they won't allow anyone else to do it for the "reason" I have stated.

Ask to see certificates of competence for the people disconnected the supplies. More than likely they do not have them so hard to justify the cost!
However they have you over a barrel and you need their permission for third party tradesmen to come on site to disconnect.
