We are looking for someone to disconnect and desite our static caravan, the park don't offer the facility. The van is situated just off the A1079, York to Hull road. Can anyone help? Thanks.
Unusual situation. Many sites won't allow anyone other than their own staff to do it. They usually quote "insurance reasons" in case anyone else's unit gets damaged as a result.
As Colin21 says, unusual situation. Can't the park even give you a contact?
Where is the van going after it is desited? If you have found another site (also unusual) will they do it for you?
If you have sold it to a dealer or scrap merchant, they may be able to arrange, or may know who can do it for you.
If you have sold it privately as an off-site van, the buyer is presumably arranging transport - find out if their transport company knows of a desiting crew.
Most transport companies work alongside to siting crews so whoever is carrying out the actual transport once it is desited should be able to give you some contacts to start with.
Failing all this, contact somebody such as NACO and ask them if they know of anyone.
Thanks for your replies and suggestion. I know its unusual for the park not to desite but they say they don't desite. We are selling to a dealer whose representative says its normally the park that desites and so they've no reason to know anyone. The dealer is using its own transportation.
Its usual for the site to disconnect not to desite, in a previous post you said the site would disconnect for £900 so get the site to disconnect then you can get the company that you have sold it to to take it away. I think you are getting confused between disconnecting and desiting.
