I have a lovely 2011 stellar 36x12 with central heating and double glazing which I like very much, But the fees on my site are going to unreasonable proportions.
With that in mind, I would like to know does anyone know of a site in kent arear that will let you relocate to.
Alternately I would consider selling it at the right price as a last resort.
This is a question that comes up with amazing regularity, and unfortunately there is only really one answer. There are very few, if any, static sites anywhere in Britain that will take a unit they haven't sold. Although I have heard it said that there are such sites in some places, I have yet to hear of anyone who has actually managed to relocate.
You have an additional problem in that your unit has reached that milestone 10 years old. For a great many sites that is the age at which they have to be removed from the site. Why 10 years should be considered "old" I really don't know, considering that my tourer is nearly 30 years old and is still quite habitable. Well actually I do know, and it's called profiteering. Sites make a lot of money out of selling new units, which is one reason why they won't take units they haven't sold, and why they want rid of statics they consider "old".
i would consider shipping it over to France for a couple of grand (from kent ..??) they tend to be less dictatorial about the age of vans on the local smaller sites and site fees are so much more 'friendly'
and once we can all move again, get yourself a frequent tunnel ticket - main issue is it wont be a weekend getaway, although when you consider the cost of site fees youre paying compared to the cost of travel, i reckon it might still be worth moving out there - especially as you cant be more than an hour away from the tunnel?
