Does anyone know of any company's that do static caravan siting only in the North Yorkshire area.
Most if not all sites anywhere in Britain will only site statics they have sold. If you own a static already but don't have a site for it you have a huge problem and probably the only option for you is to try and buy a piece of land to put it on, but that is full of problems too. The only other option is to ship it abroad, as I hear that some sites in France are a lot more lenient. Unsited statics in Britain usually sell for peanuts for this very reason. British static site owners have it well sown up.
As your request indicates that you are getting a static on your own land, maybe the company arranging transport of the static can also refer you to a siting crew - the siters will need to be co-ordinated with the delivery company anyway.
if youre looking for it to be installed on a plot, it really isnt that difficult to do it yourself, its not technical, its just common sense. a couple of decent jacks and chock and block as you proceed. there are often metal screw up legs for sale on ebay to help secure it at the correct level - a little tip is once its sited, then deflate the tyres a little and ensure they are not in contact with soil/earth as it can rot the tyres. deflating the tyres also helps it settle onto the blocks used to take the weight. most vans have jacking points highlighted if you look close enough - use those points for the supporting blocks
of course the plumbing and electric connections need to be made, but depending on what youre planning it might be easy or hard !!!
Ideal caravans have siting crews and they do operate in North Yorkshire.Be prepared for a shock when you hear the price! If you are going onto a site-most sites will only allow their own or a recognised siting company to do the job. If its your own land--any farmer will usually help for a fee.You do need something substantial to handle a static caravan. ie landrover or tractor. The setting up part is straightforward but hard work. Getting the van to the pitch is the difficult part.
ps Dont let your tyres down! They usually take around 90 psi--hard work with a footpump.Jack van up to a height where tyres are just clear of the ground.
