There seems to be little control over what sites can and cannot do. It seems to me that they often make the rules up as they go along. Some will insist on all units over 10 years old are removed, and they don't care where to. Many will only site units they have sold. Some make outlandish charges for siting units, even if they are already sited. Some make charges for unsiting vans and demand commission on sales, even if they haven't actually made the sale. They are a law unto themselves, apparently. Consequently, used units often end up on ebay, and often go for a song. About a year ago I watched one sell on ebay for £120, and it looked lovely too!

Colin

I have rented one for a holiday in the past, and loved it. I was tempted to buy, but when I looked into it I decided that I wouldn't have one as a gift! Many people have been on sites that they loved, until the site changed hands. Then the draconian rules came in. Now I always advise anyone thinking of buying one to do a lot of research and think very carefully about it. Remember, if the site changes hands the new owners have no obligation to keep to the terms and conditions of the previous owners. They can change whatever they like, whenever they like, it would seem.

Diddims, you have my sympathy.

Colin

Sorry to hear of your problems, Diddims. These park owners seem to be a law unto themselves.

Have you tried Amble Links holiday park in Northumberland? I have been on there for a few years and they have no age limit on their park. You could try to email them on amble.sales3 at parkleisure.co.uk
