Have just bought a static caravan that needs updating. Would like to start by changing the wallpaper. Does anyone know if it is possible to paint over the existing wallpaper and if so with what type of paint? Would be very grateful for any tips!  17

Generally looks c**p when wallpaper over painted. Much better results by applying fresh paper.

Test paper removal in small area. If too well attached and damaging deeper layers then leave on and paper over the top.

Thanks for advice. Any idea on what type of paper is best to use?

Dont Paper over the walls in a static - its not paper but a plastic type of coating.  We have painted over several using a kitchen/bathroom paint by Dulux.  This paint looks great and covers the walls well, also has the advantage of being washable.  If you paper it just starts to peel off in a very short time.

Ang

Thanks so much for the information. We are very relieved that we can use paint and not have to paper!
