Poor excuse for a question but its got me wound up!
We have bought a curtain for the static door but I'm worried about putting the rail up.
I don't want to screw into the wall, but I don't know how else to hang it?
Please help

If its not too heavy material buy some large stick on hooks and place them on the high part of the door frame, then buy some net curtain bar type hanger, thread the top of the curtain onto this behind the tape, between the two points its sewn on, or by running through the cord loops of the curtain tape itself. make sure the pole is about 3 ins wider than the door on either side, and likewise the support hooks, this is the way we once transfered hubby's tranny van into a camper for a weekend by fixing tempory curtains, as it had to be back to full work use after the weekends away!

Buy the largest sticky hooks you can find, and keep a few spares incase one falls off, as some of the cheapy ones tend not have very good glue pads attached.

I use these for fixing net curtains to my upvc windows here at home and find a blob of superglue will greatly increase their stickabilty.

first thing to do - choose the curtains - that way you will get an idea of the type of fixings required whichy will be dependant on the weight of the curtains. the most importasnt thing is to make sure the fixings (if screws) are not too long so as not to go straight through the caravan wall. self tappers work well to secure any brackets, make sure you drill holes first, not too big, just enough to accept tip of the screw, again, make sure you dont go through the van wall!

if youre using light weight curtains (nets) then stick on pads might work, be careful not to pull any wall covering off though if the pads wont take the weight of the curtain - if unsure you can always 'test' the weight etc at home to make sure any bar/rod doesnt bend - if nets you even just fix to the door itself using pads

hope that helps?

ps, we had a full set of curtains and nets made for our van at 'Sweet Tina's' in Jaywick, Clacton on Sea - they make curtains for lots of caravans around the area - and are very reasonably priced aswell!
