I was wondering if anyone knows of any static caravan sites that are residential in Yorkshire?? We are curently living in Gran Canaria but are looking to return to the UK at the end of the year however as I am sure most of you are aware, finding a residential site is harder than we first imagined. Please help.
Very few static van sites with 12 months occupancy they usually have 6,8 or 10 months, licence is issued by the local authority and is for holiday homes not full time residence. One option is to buy a static on a site with 10 months licence and then rent somewhere for 2 months or go to sunnier climes in Jan+Feb) (maybe a lodge on the same site as these very often have a 12 month licence).
If you are still looking, article in today's daily mail shows one static site in Yorkshire with 11 month licence and one with 12 months licence (lodges)
Not quite in Yorkshire, but South Lakeland Leisure Village near to Carnforth have an 11 month license with the closed 4 weeks being Jan 7th to Feb 7th. They are mainly for double lodges but there are some single units too. The advantage also is that new ones come with a 50 year lease, but at a price. Worth a look though. We have one there and think it is a great place to be.
Fantastic bar/restaurant/pool and gym, and close proximity to the Lakes, Yorkshire dales etc
We rent ours out to help with running costs (ground maintenance/gas/electric/insurance) so that we can enjoy it when time permits.
There is a lovely site in Ayrshire thats opened all year roun .Its called the Ranch at Maybole and its quite a large site for statics and tourers.Site fees are £1500 per annum .It is a quiet site near town about 10 mins walk also has swimming pool and gym and large kids playground. It has fantastic views over the Galloway hills and the area is steeped in history.
A site being open for 12 months a year does not mean you can live in your static for those 12 months. Check Maybole, their season is March to January so you have to vacate for all of February.
