HELLO EVERYONE, I'VE BEEN TOURING FOR A FEW YEARS NOW, BUT MY MRS NOW HAS A YEARNING FOR A STATIC VAN, SHE WANTS A BIT MORE ROOM ! TROUBLE IS I CAN'T AFFORD BRAND NEW. I'VE LOOKED ON EBAY AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF DECENT STATICS GOING FOR A FEW GRAND, BUT MOST SITES WON'T TAKE OLD STATICS, ALTHOUGH I DO RECALL SEEING AN ADVERT SOMEWHERE FOR A SITE THAT SAID SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF "WE ACCEPT NEW OR OLD VANS.......MAYBE YOU ARE HAVING A DISPUTE WITH YOUR PRESENT SITES OWNERS ?" BUT MY WIFE HADN'T SAID ANYTHING AT THE TIME SO I TOOK NO NOTICE !

SO MY QUESTION IS, DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A SITE THAT ACCEPTS OLDER VANS ? PREFERABLY IN THE SKEGNESS AREA OR ANYWHERE THAT NOT MUCH MORE THAN A TWO HOURS FROM LEICESTER ? THANKS TO EVERYONE IN ADVANCE.

You could give the Robin Hood site a call on Roman Bank if they are still in business, my ex-husband and his then 2nd wife (just been divorced by wife no4 lol!) used to have one on there which was clearly ageing in its years, looked like something from the 70s with its Orange and brown colour schemes and decals.

Also Lakeside nr Mablethorpe take secondhand vans, but i think they are what they supply themselves off other sites when a customer buys a brand new one. We spotted one being unloaded there off the back of a transporter last year. Not sure of the age limits, but some do look like well kept vans of about 15yrs old. Top class landscaped site with full facilities, fishing lake, golf course, shop, members club, tropicana centre with jacuzzis, pool, sauna and steam room, so ground rent may not be the cheapest around.

The Chase on Anchore lane,Ingoldmills,If the van looks nice and clean,and is fully serviceable they will accept it,my son has 7 on there,ranging in age from 8 to 14 year old van,if you want to let it out to help recover some of the ground rent,it will have to be tested for the gas & electricty,and all the small electrical appliances PAT tested.my Son also has a selection of vans for sale,ranging from £1000 up depending on how many births,they can also transport stattic vans as they have thier own flatbed lorry,they may even be able to help you site it,and also give you all the info for testing and connecting the van up on site,if interested,let me know,and I can forward details to you,hope this helps.

Forgot to say,they are based in Nottingham,and you can view the vans there also. 

thanks Pete, thats brilliant ! yes please, can you forward those details please ? my brother in law is thinking about finishing his van, because its almost at the site limit of 15 years, where he is (Dorset) and we've talked about my buying it as it is still very clean, but the site he is on have him on a contract that says he must sell it back to them for £250 ! no doubt they will then sell it on for about five grand !! I don't suppose you or your son know any ways around this ???
