This is from an email today from the Spring Caravan and Camping Show organisers:
"NEWS JUST IN...
NCC Launches Approved Holiday Park - Holiday Home Ownership Scheme
Launching at the Show, this new industry initiative sees NCC member holiday parks offering ownership sign-up to provide consumers with a greater level of protection than required by law. The scheme covers the purchase and sale of new and pre-owned homes and the agreement to occupy a pitch. All scheme park members members will be displaying the 'NCC Approved' badging on their stand. Find out more at the NCC stand in Hall 4 - 4020 - or visit www.approvedholidayparks.co.uk."
There is a link to the Code of Practice which I'd recommend that any prospective buyer reads very carefully, remembering that not all park owners sign up to it anyway.

Looking back to a message thread started by SHOSKY in august...I have just listened to horror story regarding re-siting of a static caravan .Firstly ..I make my living transporting and siting static caravans and I do get to know quite a lot more than some of the park owners would like me to!!!
I appreciate this is an old post, but it came up in a google search (and it's how I found this forum).
at BRYANMITCH Would you be able to provide the name of the company you work for (or others) that I could contact to get quotes for moving a static caravan in Wales? Usually story, park being a nightmare and I need to move quickly.
Im still out here but no longer involved in caravan transport.I do know of one company--Holiday homes transport ltd. Chris on 07730921263. Based near Rhyl I think. Find out from the park what you are allowed to do--can your own transporter unsite and disconnect etc? or is it only collection from the carpark for example? The transport company will probably have their own escort/unsiting vehicle if needed but they will need to know what they are allowed to do.
You could ask your park if they use any particular company for their transport and contact these people direct. It would be good if they could fit your removal in at a time they were delivering to your site.Back in the day we would have given you a decent discount for this-big savings on time and fuel.Good luck

Thank you! I did manage to get a quote from a large company in the end. I'm now struggling with the added complexity of needing a roof repair and wanting to get it done ideally before I move to the new site.
Is it possible to have a static transported to a repair place rather than have them come to a site? Or would I need to try and find somewhere to store it that a repairer could visit?
Thank you for your help, much appreciated. I don't have very long to sort this all out and my stress levels are through the roof.
Sorry-- been away for a while. If its only a minor repair -I would suggest moving to your new site first. If its something major this could cause problems with the strength of your van when loading onto the truck. They can bend in the middle! When it is being sited there will be quite a bit of twisting and flexing until it is level and secure. Personally I would wait until then in case any other problems arise.
OnTheMove22, did you manage to find another site that would take your static? I am sure there are others on here who would love to know about it if you did, because sites that will take a static that they haven't sold are almost as rare as unicorn's droppings!
