i have a static on a holiday park but they have requested a copy of my new council tax bill how is this ok when i dont live in my caravan i live miles away i dont rent it out and only occupy my caravan on holidays, are they able to force me to give them a copy and do this mean they are charging me council tax on my holiday static
ooh dam dont understand why i wasnt told this by the park resorts sales rep when purchasing the caravan i was only informed of water rates electric and gas ohh and groundrent
Is the site open 12 months of the year? I owned statics for 10 years but never paid Council Tax because the site was only open 11 months so could not be deemed to be living there.
it is but the salesman said i could not live there as a resident i had to have a home else where but i could stay there as long as i wanted to as i would be paying ground rent
You will find providing you are paying council tax on your main residence ie your home where you live and the bill is in your name, you do not have to pay council tax on a holiday static. I am assuming you dont live in it, and its NOT your main residence.
it is for my home i live in that they have requested a copy of my council tax bill yes to keep with compliance to their council tax well that is what they have said in the letter
no its just a holiday home i dont even let it out its just for me and my family on the school breaks. The letter is asking for a copy of my council tax bill to my residential home that i live in to keep in compliance with their audit requirements to make sure they are complying to the 12 month rule
Thats right. I have to show a copy to the caravan site every year just to show that I am paying council on the house I live in. No big deal to be fair. Plus it covers the parks back should their council ask if anyone on their park does not pay council tax. Then they can show if they have a copy of your c/tax bill , that you are paying the tax. Its no big deal really.
well thats fine i can do that i was just concerened if i was being charged council tax for the caravan as you can tell im a very newbie at this caravan ownership and still learning the tricks of pros and cons
