Has anyone any advice or pointers when it comes to finding a site to house a static? I have recently refurbished one and I'm looking for a site for a long term. I can only seem to find sites who want you to buy direct from them.
Any suggestions in the Lancashire/North Wales area?

there have been quite a few threads about this over the last few years if they havent been 'archived or deleted' you should find some decent info although not specific to your search area

From personal experience, sites that have a spare pitch will charge a hefty fee for siting your own unit, never mind the fee for transporting it (Professionally)

10ft * 21ft is easy for transport, but 14ft * 38ft Oh My Goodness!!!!!!!

actually that's not true, SOME sites might but I live in Clacton and theres often side of the road advertising for owners to 'bring' their vans onto local sites for free, with reduced fees.

I would be a bit cautious though and make sure you look at the fine print, age restrictions on van etc. that way you would need to buy your next van from the site, sometimes at considerable cost

I am in a similar position and it is a bit of a mine field.

I would like to get a static and site somewhere close to the beach in Mid/South Wales. I don't want to pay big money for something new on a Haven site or anything...

Ideally I want a small adult only location, doesn't need facilities etc.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received....I have money ready to spend!

As has been said many times before, there are very, very few sites anywhere in Britain that will allow you to site a static that the site owner didn't sell you. I would imagine that any that do would charge a small fortune for the privilege, and would impose many restrictions. That's why there are so many perfectly good older statics going for a song (unsited) on ebay. I've seen some lovely ones go for less than £200!

My advice would be to find a site you like first, then ask the site owner/operator what they have available. I would never even think of getting a static first, then trying to find a site for it. It's virtually impossible.

and just be wary of buying one privately already sited UNLESS you have agreed the sale with the site and checked small print on how long it can stay on site for etc
