Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a property that needs some renovation. It has large grounds and an old static in there.

I know nothing about statics except that it seems hard to find sites for them.

Can you help me decide:

- the best way to find a decent used static to replace the one that is there - for a reasonable price. One that can potentially be rented out year round. What do I need to pay for this? (my budget is small!)

- can I make any money hosting a static or two - I guess I'd need planning permission for a second one

- how to / costs of getting rid of the old one and getting a new one onsite

Anything else you think I need ot conside, I don't want to make an expensive mistake.

I need to work out if having a site for a static is a benefit or an expensive problem....

I have no experience at all, but if this is something as you say you fancy renting, and as someone ( before motorhome purchase) who would maybe have been a potential holiday renter.....I personally would have preferred something more rustic like a yurt, or a cabin, or a even a little glamping pod in nice surrounds......just something to consider as another option to a big static caravan. I appreciate there are those who prefer the space however in a static.

I have though no idea the cost of such things vs the cost of a static. And of course a static would have its own toilet unless your pods were plumed in too lol

Dozens of them on eBay, you are in a good position if you have somewhere to put one. A scrappie may take your old one away?
