First time here but after a little help. We have just purchased a brand new 48ft x 14ft mobile home, placed it in our field and been informed by the local council that it is a breach of planning and will require moving. We are after a beautiful location for a pitch for our new mobile home to avoid selling it. All locations considered however lakeside/scenic much preferred.
Please note this is not to live in it will be for a holiday home/ holiday rental - Naively, our 7.5acre field in the countryside is not acceptable according to the local council.
A number of people have wrongly assumed they could site a Caravan or Mobile Home on private land.
Supply of electricity and water, removal of sewage and waste water have to be considered.
Basically, it would be assumed you would be avoiding paying Council tax.
I know (personally) people who have Park Homes with a limited lease, who will be required to remove them (at their own expense) at the end of their lease. (Check out Alfie Best Wyldecrest)
Even if they could buy some land, they will not be able to live on it.
Good luck.
Regards James

Oh dear, you really do have my sympathy. Finding a site, particularly for a holiday home, can be extremely difficult. Ironically it might be slightly easier if you did want to live in it, as the rules are very different for residential sites than for holiday. Very rarely will holiday sites anywhere in Britain allow a static that they haven't sold onto their sites. I really do hope you find somewhere though, good luck.
You'll find that not a lot of parks will accept caravans that weren't bought on their site. Your best bet is to find a park that will do a part exchange for your current caravan for another caravan on their site.
Hope this helps!
