Hi I have a Willerby Lyndhurst 2003 model. I want to winterise the caravan myself this year as the cost of someone doing it goes up every year. We have been under the caravan and have found 2 drain plugs but these are directly below the boiler. I do have 2 outside taps for hot and cold water. Site manager has said one I turn off the stopcock and open these taps up that should be it, but Im not convinced.
Would appreciate any help here to guiding me were to locate the plugs. Thanks.
Have a look under the van directly under the kitchen sink. Run the hot water and feel for pipes that are hot and look for drain taps, my last static had 4 drain down taps, 2 under the kitchen sink (outside under the van) and 2 more under the boiler. If you run the central heating for about 15 mins or so you should be able to identify the central heating pipes and not drain down these as the system should have antifreeze in it. Just remember to turn off the water at the stopcock before draining down, flush the toilet(s), take off the thermostaic valve in the shower as opening the taps and placing the shower head in the tray will not empty the cassette and water in it could freeze. Leave all taps open and add antifreeze/concentrated windscreen washer fluid to all U bends, toilet bowl(s)and particularly the shower U bends as this will be outside the van. Disconnect the mains inlet at the stopcock, I always left in the van a note to myself to remind me to close all taps before reconnecting the mains and opening the stopcock.
Hope this helps
