Hi all does anyone know of any places that do insurance for statics on private land?
Thanks
Much probably depends on what the static will be used for and whether it is in the curtilage of a house or farm, or all by itself on the land.
If it is in the curtilage of your house/farm, then start off with your house/farm insurance, as they can quite possibly add the static to your insurance.
If it is by itself, many of the regular insurance companies are nervous about insuring statics that are not on a licenced park, so you probably need a specialist broker - try companies such as Lifesure, Leisuredays, Adrian Flux etc., as they have a broad base of underwriters for both holiday statics and residential park homes.
Please come back and tell everybody how you get on, as I have seen this question before and your answer will probably help somebody else.
Thanks had no joy with any insurance company. Nobody wants to know as soon as you mention private land. Going to try the house insurance and see where we get with them.

If the house insurance won't help, then maybe try specialist brokers which cover "non standard" buildings. You probably need companies that can cover houseboats, barn conversions, wooden homes, etc.
It has to be possible, but the mainstream all have the "standard construction" mindset, and the ones which advertise static insurance are probably geared only towards caravan sites.
Surprised that the brokers could not at least point you in the right direction - but google "non standard construction homes" and several names come up.
