If there is anyone on this forum living on a residential park home site, there is a petition (link attached) asking for residential park home owners to receive the £400 energy grant.
Newer sites have utilities supplied directly by the utility company, so no problem - but older sites have the traditional method of the utility company supplying the park, and the park in turn supplying to the individual homes - so although the homes have domestic electric meters, they are not customers of the utility company, so will not be included in the handout, and the park itself will have a business supply so they will not be included either. The reports I have seen indicate that the Treasury is under the impression that park home residents pay an all-inclusive pitch fee which includes electric and gas - whereas these are always paid on top of the pitch fee.
Seems a bit unfair that 2nd home owners will get paid twice, when people who own and live in a park home may not get anything. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/617700
Can anyone sign it? I think that is grossly unfair too but I don't live in a park home. I did many years ago though when things were even worse for park home residents than they are today.
This was one of the questions asked on a programme I was watching. The “expert” said they had contacted the government. They were told ”expert” then asked what happened if the park didn’t pass it on. The government said they will look into it. What amazes me is that everyone will get no matter whether your a millionaire or on benefits.
I have signed the petition.

If I lived in a park home in this situation, I would write to the Consumers Association (Which?). They have a lot of clout with various campaigns & in their advice online, they don’t seem to be aware of this loophole.
Thank you, Colin21.
Yes, anyone can sign it - you just need a valid email address for the petition confirmation (your details are kept private, not shown anywhere at all).
The park owner cannot "pass it on" because they have a business account, so will not receive it.
The good news is that the Government have been made aware, and it is now being discussed how the problem will be overcome so that people who pay for the electricity they use in their home via a third party (and that is not just park homes, houseboats and a lot of private rentals) will be included.
It was quite alarming to realise how many of the authorities think that pitch fees, mooring fees etc include all bills.
