Hello, hoping someone can advise the best way to get rid of a knackered static. We have 'inherited' the damn thing where we have moved to. Not sure of its age or whether it has any use anymore. We're in Derbyshire. Thanks
strip as much that could be reused, so curtains seat cushions cooker fridge etc, and then get a scrap man to come and take the rest? put as much as you can salvage on ebay to resell.
Did you know it was there when you purchased?
If not, then you may be able to get the seller to pay for removal.
Unless otherwise agreed, sellers should leave the property in a clean and tidy condition.
Old statics can be very hard to dispose of, so while you may be able to get somebody to take it off your hands, it is also possible that you may have to pay a (licensed)waste merchant to remove and dispose of it.
If it is still reasonably sound and useable, can it otherwise be converted to a garden annexe/shed/office - or even keep chickens in it?
Not in the sale particulars? and you didn’t look at the property before you bought it?
May need to factor in shutting off the electricity supply and disconnecting from a sewer or soakaway.
I like the chickens idea, given the egg shortage.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
you could dismantle it yourself and ask if any local scrap merchants would come and collect the scrap metal - the aluminium sides and roof and metal chassis along with any copper piping/cable might make it worth them collecting.
make no mistake though, it is time consuming and you would need to get a large size skip in to get rid of anything you cant take to the local tip/recycling centre
