Hi, I bought a second user static in the summer. It appears to have cruddy air vents, I wondered if this was mould. How do you clean them?
I won't be going until next March, but I would like to know if there is any method of cleaning them. For example, do the covers come off?
The dirt you see is very, very unlikely to be any sort of mould but a build up of dust and dirt blown in from outside and trapped in the vent.
Cleaning is possible (even with covers in place) with an assortment of small wire brushes, dish brushes, kitchen wipes, and lots of thin damp dusters. Time consuming, but quite satisfying.
Whether or not they have removable covers probably varies depending on which air vents you mean - which is not a very helpful answer, sorry.
If you mean the trickle vents on the windows and doors, if they are the sort with adjustable covers, then the covers can definitely be removed.
Other vans have larger fixed window/door vents and I don't think these can be removed.
Old vans have wall vents and no idea about these, but you could ask the manufacturer.
These are ceiling vents. I've already cleaned all the floor and window vents. Particularly the one in the kitchen area. Looks like I shall have to take a set of steps there next time I go, and all the stuff you mention!
Thank you ever so much for the reply, very helpful.
