Hi,

I am new here and need some advice please!

I want to decorate my caravan - paint and wallpaper. Has anyone used the self-adhesive wallpaper on their caravan and if so - did it work? Any tips?

Also, I want to paint the internal walls and was going to use a primer and then kitchen/bathroom paint - any advice?

Thanks,
Vicky

does it really need the paint job? it will devalue your caravan if your only doing it for your tastes.

but as with any decorating job the success of it will down to the amount of preparation you do. all washing down with sugar soap and left to dry, then sanded and primed, your best going for a matt paint, and would suggest buying decent paint such as farrow and ball.

saying that im not a fan of painted caravans and would walk away from one.

Hi Marg6,

Thanks for your advice.

No, it doesn't need painting - it's a static home - I just want to make it look less caravan like - if that makes sense!

I wonder whether it would devalue the caravan, unless it's an older one.
My static caravan is very beige! And beige is boring! Dark green curtains as well... not a brilliant colour choice!

What I did was to buy some dark red velour throws (one is a deep wine colour, the other has printed poppies on it) to put on the seats, so that brought a bit of colour in, and also keeps the seats clean. A few scatter cushions added a bit more colour. A few little ornaments did a bit more, and I also added a few art pictures.

I can understand why you want to put your own stamp on it. But, as Marg6 says above, it's a holiday home. If you ever want to sell it on, it might be difficult due to everyone's tastes being different.
