Are there any reasonably priced caravan sites near there? And shops.

I have OS sheets 25 & 26 in front of me.
Glen Affric is known for its Scots Pine regeneration (thinking about your need for clear Sky reception). It has a single track bendy C-road with passing places. No sites in the Glen. Nearest small town is Cannich, my map shows a site there but I haven’t checked Site Search. I’m not keen because I don’t like being near high voltage power lines & the huge Beauly - Denny pylons go through Strathglass (taking our wind energy south).
Nearest bigger town for shops is down Glen Urquhart to Drumnadrochit on Loch Ness (very touristy: Nessie hunters etc) or the much more interesting Beauly. For supermarkets, you’re back to Inverness which has an enormous Tesco on the east side of the A9.

In my defence, the campsite symbol isn’t actually in woodland, and there’s no site name on the OS map…

I have stayed at Cannich site and loved it. Plentiful walks and a beautiful drive up the Glen to the start of the Estate.
Cannich is just a very small hamlet, a small village shop, cafe and a hotel on the edge of the village.
The Campsite also has a lovely cafe.
I think about 25 minutes drive to Beauly which has all the,shops and amenities you could need (Beauly also has a lovely looking campsite).

As Dot P says, Glen Affric is wild & beautiful: it is a National Scenic Area, one of our 40 areas of “unsurpassed attractiveness”. It’s also a National Nature Reserve. There’s a long distance walk along it, heading to Kintail. The regenerating Scots Pine was one of the first areas to be fenced off to stop deer grazing before “rewilding” was so named & became popular, and it’s changed so much since I first went there in the mid 80s.
The nearest site we’ve stayed at is Bunchrew, between Beauly & Inverness; too long ago to remember if it was a reasonable cost, and not particularly near as a base.

Just looked at the aerial view, where there appear to be several caravans facing an open area. We could get a Sky signal there.
