I would like to stay near there, but no sites within 10 miles with ehu? Does anyone know of one £25 pn or less, no other facilities needed, apart from hardstanding this time of year
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Mrs B, if it ain’t on Site Search here or either Club website, it’s probably because it’s got trees on the wrong side.
Seriously, google maps has nothing that close to the town, but I’m watching for the deluge of suggestions as I had marked it as somewhere I wanted to visit. (I have since realised Mr Google was lying - my town to Dover wasn’t 8 hours drive, it was 2 days.)

Well Fiona, I'm in W London, and regardless of what all the lying bar steward route planners say, Lewes may only be about 90 miles away, but it's likely a 2.5 - 3 hour drive for me! I 'do' that area frequently enough to know 'it ain't quick!'. Add to that my regular trips to the Lake District from W London seem to take 8-10 hours these days, yes you are looking at one VERY long day on the road or a two day journey!
Mrs B, you have the complication of many sites now being closed for winter, but whenever I've looked, it doesn't ever seem to be a very budget friendly region on pitch fees!
Latchets is £23 pn, ehu and hardstandings and is open all year. Will go sometime but we tend to go closer to home this time of year, might go at Christmas though. Most importantly, there are no trees in the way of the Sky TV signal.

Well, we are going to.Rosewood Farm CL near Heathfield. Latchets/Chiddingly wanted full payment in advance and White House Farm near Uckfield haven't replied to email or phone call. Further from Lewes than I wanted...
We are at Rosewood Farm now (not a farm but a posh house with loads of land). We are on a pitch terraced into the steep hillside with a couple of resident geese who keep pecking the car and caravan. Any idea why anyone?
I reckon that they think that OH is their long lost mother. Tomorrow he is going to go outside on all fours and put a slice of bread on his back. We think that they will fly onto him. Oh, and he went down to look at the lake in the valley (also part of the site owner's land). There were 2 naked ladies being photographed. Made his day! Weird or what?
As for the geese, be thankful they aren’t Kia (Mountain Parrots) - in NZ they remove grommets, window seals, boot laces etc. People have come back to their tour bus to find all the windows have fallen out. I love ‘em!
No, we didn't get to Lewes at all, too far really. Very steep terraced site, we only just made it up the hill. The geese didn't follow us. Lost internet for days, only just got it back.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
