Hi

We're looking for some SouthWest camping sites for our family in our new motorhome. Something walkable to a beach and village and a site that is kid friendly.
As we're new owners and a bit nervous, bonus points for something not down one track lanes

How about North Morte Farm campsite.
Kid friendly, can walk to beaches and not too many skinny roads.

yep , another vote for Pentewan sands, right on beach ,kid friendly, tiny village adjacent with good pub, depends on time of year but can be very pricey

Have a look at Porth Beach Touring Park, Newquay (right opposite the beach).
Also Ayr Holiday Park, St Ives (walk down to the beaches).
**Beware - neither site are cheap!**

Have a look at Seadown in Charmouth. Just a short stroll along the river running through the campsite and leading to the beach. And it's also a very short walk to the pubs, cafes, chippy, shops etc from the site entrance. Should tick most of your requirements?

Another vote for Pentewan Sands if you want to be right on the beach. There is not much of a village, it is tiny, but the pub is great with a lovely big beer garden for when the weather is nice. You can also get the bus from directly outside the site. It runs to St Austell in one direction where you can then get further busses all over Cornwall or 10 minutes in the opposite direction takes you to Mevagissy which is a lovely village. You can also walk to Mevagissy along the coastal path in about an hour and a half but you need to be fit as the coastal path is very steep in places so it is a strenuous walk. We have been to Pentewan sands twice and would use it again as it is easy to get to (no narrow roads) and well placed for exploring the area with the bonus of being right on the beach.

If you want to go right down to west Cornwall then 2 choices in Hayle. Beachside Holiday Park & St Ives Bay Holiday Park both with direct beach access & longish but doable walk to town.
