Scarborough camping and caravanning club site is a very good site, (no1 on webmasters link for Scarborough,) open to non members, but may be a bit pricy if not a member, theres a carvery pub next door, also nice walk on main road to Scarborough through Peashome Park.

Welcome! Enjoy your camping, wherever you end up. This is a bit further north, being at Hinderwell just past Whitby, but I found Serenity campsite very pleasant, not too large, quiet, spotless facilities, chippie nearby. Handy for visiting Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay, Saltburn etc.

If you don't have to be right on the coast and are a solo camper I recommend Marfit Head Farm between Pickering and Whitby. It's a lovely site anyway but the big advantage for the solo camper is that they charge per person, I think it was £6 a night last year.

Scarborough C&CC site, chip shop on site, pub for meals just through the gate,and also bus stop. Foot path for cliff top walk.

yes , correct, there is a chip shop on site, but the last 3 years iv'e been there, it has'nt been open, though i've not been in high season

I stayed at Ivydean campsite about 1 mile from the beach outside Mablethorpe, a couple of years back.

Wanted a site that took both caravan and tent for friends to stay in next pitch to my van. Nicely kept and reasonably level pitches for both van and tent.

Probably got the 'poshest' toilets and showers I've ever seen on a campsite! They were impeccably clean! Nice sheltered dishwashing area with hot water too.

Far enough away from town to avoid the 'hoards', but close enough to walk in for shopping (big Lidl about 1/2 mile away), fish and chips, takeaways, restaurants, pubs etc. Bus stop a couple of hundred yards from site.

Stunning wide sandy beach about 1.5 miles away, and pretty quiet and deserted so I could let my dog run free. Seal sanctuary (more of a mini Zoo really, with assorted rescued animals) maybe 2 miles away.

It far exceeded my expectations, and every intention of revisiting if going that way again.
