Hi everyone

I am looking for a campsite in the snowdonia area for a gathering of older and very well behaved motorcycle camping enthusiasts.

However, the campsite must be within walking distance of a town with: B&Bs, a pub or 2 with food.

I have found various campsites that are too far from other things like food pubs and B&Bs and many of the campsites have a “no groups” rule with the statement “if you book individually but we find you are in a group you will be asked to leave”

We aren’t planning a big bikers rally sometimes there will only be 6 of us camping and more staying in B&Bs but sometimes more people camp.

We usually have a “rally” at the Erwlon campsite
In Llandovery at least once a year, and they happily accommodate us but we also like to find an alternative location once a year. (2 rally’s per year)

We have been to sandwich, Kent, Alston Cumbria, corwen Denbighshire, stenson, Derbyshire and Southern Ireland.

Can anyone suggest a campsite where we can host our gathering?

There used to be a site at the Snowdon Inn, not far from Llanberis. I'm sure it would suit if It is stil going.

Thanks mrs bonce, the snowdon inn is one I have “short listed” from the reviews it sounds like the owner is very laidback and it could be perfect for our little gathering….with the exception that it’s a 45 minute walk into llanberis. We have had long walks to the nearest pub before but I think 45 minutes might be too far. I walk fast but I can’t speak for everyone. One gathering we had in Southern Ireland, the nearest pub had a minibus and they picked us all up from the campsite (eagle point Bally lickey).

Maybe the owner of the snowdon inn could help us arrange a taxi or 2 to get us to town?

Well, the Snowdon Inn was a pub when we went there, but that was a long time ago.

I think it’s only a bunkhouse now. Which is a shame but it looks like a nice campsite.

Their Website says it is a Bakehouse: photo of hands kneading dough for pizza etc. No mention of bunkhouse.
Google maps (and presumably the UKCS map) shows other campsites in the area, some may have a bar that you can walk to.

Have a look for sites that have a rally field as they are set up for groups.

Have a look at Is Helen Farm on the edge of Caernarfon . It has a camping field to the front of site, perhaps a phone call explaining what you are about may be helpful as doesn't mention groups on the website. Caernarfon 15 min walk so ideal in that respect.
