I must agree with you, we went to the "Gart" in Callander, we arrived on the Friday afternoon and the weather was glorious although it did rain during the night then dry by the time we woke, Saturday morning was beautiful although we did get a shower late in the afternoon for about 5 minutes. Sunday was nice with the odd shower but nothing to stop you from being outdoors, and Monday was lovely.
Hi jamsie, yes this was our first trip to dollar, the wee site was good enough but the toilets!!! although clean didn't have any hot water in them, when i tried to have a shower ( 20p charge) it wouldn't work so i had to go to the other block which after gettin nekid and re dressed is a pain! and there is no hot water piped to the uncovered dishwash area which is a real bind especially for tenters we have a van which is lucky we have hot water but i like to do the dishes away from the van, so all in good enough basic site but the toilet block put me off going back.
That's one scored off the list for visiting, like yourself we can also have hot water in the van but prefer to use the shower and dishwashing facilities and keep the van in good condition, after all were paying for it so why not.
Aye, Charmouth - Dorset, lovely place unless you happen to be pitched in a hurricane. Our friends tent collapsed and drenched everything so they spent the night in our awning. I laid awake all night listening to the rain and howling wind expecting the awning to be torn off at any moment and be blown out to sea. Monday made up for it, beautiful day !

WE were at St Neots stayed until tuesday. Felt so sorry for those in tents who had to leave at 4am monday due to being under 6ins of water. By tuesday they had to move remaining vans off with tractor and move all units away from the river which was near to bursting its banks. Kids loved paddling in the new lakes that had formed as did the ducks.I have some photos on my profile.
