wendy if you go on the butlins website go to the q and a part and there is a phone number for the touring parks

We went last week and I totally agree with what Marzie has said also with all that butlins has to offer we were hardly in our camper, just there to sleep really, Kids had a great time, will definatly be going back, it's also a lot cheaper than a chalet, just a pity they don't take tents at Skegness.

We went on the Skegness touring site on a rally last year.  It rained a lot and the field got very muddy.  All non 4x4 drivers had to be towed off.  Portable toilets were fair/ok.

Short walk under the road into Butlins.  Had a great time at Butlins though but generally found the visitors were really ignorant.

eg, hold the door open for someone and about 50 people walk through non saying thank you.  If you wasn't at the evening entertainment before it begins you won't get a seat

Butlins, Skeg isn't open all year either. Sorry I cant remember the opening months. We go annually to an apartment (Hubby doesn't like caravans/camping!) and really enjoy all the facilities. Have been to the touring side with the kids (12 & 2) and although the showers & loos were fairly basic we found them warm & pretty clean, even though it was mid August.
The warden was friendly & helpful, even offered to help me pitch the Dandy! I'd go more often if it were cheaper.

We went to Butlins Skeggy earlier this year. The reason we decided to buy a new caravan after selling our old one last September. Cost a fortune for a couple of days, considering you can take the caravan away for a fraction of the money we spent.

Don`t get me wrong the kids loved it but we never seen them each evening stuck in the arcades. We go away to spend quality time with the kids and decided Butlins wasn`t for us again. We went away Whit to a quite site with not much in the way of facilities and kids enjoyed themselves just as much.

How long has Butlins had a touring site?  We're taking the grandkids to Skegness Butlins for a week, but the brochure didnt say anything about bringing the van.  Its costing us the best part of £1000 for an apartment and half board, but I'd much sooner have taken the van.

My standards are quite low. However, wild horses coudn't drag me to a Butlins/Haven type site as, thankfully, they're not that low yet !

yep £41.50 for Friday and Saturday night, £37.50 for Sunday to Thursday night.

On the day you leave as long as caravan/trailer is off pitch by 10am (can park it on another field or campsite road) then you don't have to be off site till 6pm

We are off to Butlins in Minehead in August for a week.

It's the first time we have taken a tourer there so I am not sure what to expect but I know the kids will love it because they love Haven sites.

we went to butlins minehead in Feb, although we stayed in an apartment, we did try to look at the touring site, but it looked like they were using it for a dump, as it had lots of piles of old beds etc. all over it. It was also very overgrown, but as it was Feb and not open, I hope that it has now been sorted.

We have been to Butlins minehead many times, but feb will be the last time that we will go for a number of reasons. The main one being, we have never spent so much money whilst on holiday, everything free is a joke, the "fairground" had 5 rides and Go-karts (that were an extra charge), then a small indoor fair for toddlers, a slide, and around 6 small rides. The swimming pool is free, but was dirty, and kids play area gone, and main ride inside not working. You can let your kids go on the climbing walls/ropes, just dont forget your £20 each for them to have ago, £5 for bungee trampoline, £3 for go on surfboard, ballon models from £2, face painting from £3 and it goes on, in the skyline it has a distinct lack of seating, unless you were in a cafe of course, and all around are the dreaded machines, not 10p ago but £1, so as the kids are bored its a constant "can we have a £1"

Drinks, food, ice-cream, sweets, beer prices all a rip off.

Sorry but we used to love butlins, but never again,
