This subject really gets my goat.

One time we were pictched in a lovely spot and when we came back a whole load of clampits turned up and put 5 tents on 2 pictches really close to us. To make it worse we could hear them talking about adult things at 6am!!!

Why do the site owners get greedy and let people squeeze in wherever they like.

It annoys me too, I always feel a little anxious when I return to my tent after a day out. You don't know what to expect, could be the Beverly Hillbillies camping next to you! Perhaps we should have campsite ASBO's!

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

As I've said elsewhere on this forum I had a wonderful time this weekend just gone. The only thing that came near to spoiling it were my neighbours at the rear of my pitch. Mum and dad insisted on walking across our pitch because it was the shortest route to the shower block, water, bins, in fact I think it was the shortest route to everywhere even if they had to go in the opposite direction.

Imagine the scene, sitting outside with friends enjoying our evening meal in the sunshine when the bloke at the back walks between us and the awning. Some might think 'What's the problem' but others will know how we felt. There was not an excuse me or anything.

To provide some privacy we put some windbreaks up at the back of the pitch to act as a fence. They pushed them over and carried on as if they weren't meant to be there.

We couldn't believe it. In fact if it wasn't so increadible I might have got really annoyed. I must however point out that the kids were as good as gold.

ooh, that would have made my blood boil. I would have put the windbreak back up with a notice attached saying"public footpath this way" with an arrow pointing in the path direction. If that isn't a big enough hint then they deserve it if you have "words" with them about your privacy.

I know exactly how you feel. We pitched our tiny 2-man tent at the Barge Inn camp site, Honeystreet, on Saturday and returned from a walk to find our new neighbours had pitched so close they were only a couple of inches away!  We couldn't then use the tent entrance on that side. They had parked their car the other side of our tent so all we could do was de-peg our tent and move it 12 inches closer to their car, but at least we could then get into the tent!

Even worse than that, though, was the drumming that went on until 4 am .... and the noisy parties around the camp site ... we won't be going back.

Is it me, or do a lot of these things happen during bank holidays? Aside from Easter (when it can be a bit cold for some) we don't bother going away on bank holidays nowadays because of crowded sites and traffic.
