That's one reason why we tend to stick to sites we have been to before and where we know the owners don't mind if you arrive early and leave later.

Spontanaity is great, if you are retired or unemployed, some folk, myself included, like to book in advance, gives you something to look forward to, we go whatever the weather, last year in June we went to Chester Fairoaks, the weather was grim. Drove up to Blackpool, different again, glorious.

Taking the awning down and packing everything else away by 10 in the morning is pushing it a bit to say the least.  Unless you go to bed really early the night before, which sort of defeats the object!

I usually try to avoid sites that make you leave before midday.

It seems to me that this is a simple supply/demand issue.   There's been a big increase in caravan ownership recently with Caravan Club membership at record levels, but where are all the new sites to accommodate everyone?

I know the CC has opened some new sites this year, as has the C&CC, but there clearly need to be more sites. If this was the case, then they'd be forced to rethink these sort of rules.

When I go to France, I see numerous sites with fantastic facilities - loads with swimming pools, many with indoor pools, but where are they in the UK? There are also loads of municipal sites which rarely fill up, as well as the "campings a la ferme" CL/CS type sites --- and they all seem to be cheaper than the UK too.

So, who's for starting some new business ventures to solve all our problems?!

With all due respect, how do you think anyone would get planning permission to build swimming pools, clubrooms etc in our countryside?

Even if planning permission were granted, what about the astronomical cost of installing electricity, telephone, water, drainage and toilets nowadays?

For campers to then complain about the cost of camping...

whinge whinge whinge, you cant go through life without spending money, just give them the extra and be done with it! You'd all be like paul mcCartney, just give her that money I say. Mind you the wigwammers only do it to save dosh. Get your cheque-book out and buy a caravan!

I think that was quite a rude post.  This is a forum for tenters, caravanners, motorhomers, Trailer Tenters etc.

Are you a clown by any chance?

Oh yes! let's just give them our money for a poor service.

I don't see why i should have to vacate my pitch on a beautiful sunday morning by 10 or 12 o'clock just because they want more money out of me.

i'm glad i've given it up.

Can't spend money we haven't got, you ignorant sod!!!!!!!!

Just treat the posting/poster with the contempt it deserves.

Please dont be too sensitive, and keep this civil, no need for rudeness, and make sure it stays on the original poster's topic.
Dont bother replying to this
