I agree that Caravanners should have equal access to the facilities - and I am a camper!  And caravans are using site water anyway if they use it in their caravans or not....   HOWEVER - why do lots of sites position their caravan pitches closest to the loos/washing up, with tents miles away - that always seems strange to me...at least in a caravan there is a loo for the middle of the night!!!

Another reason why caravanners may use the facilities is that they are using the site as a stopover so don't want the hassle of filling up with water. We nearly always use our own otherwise.

We are one of those caravanners who don't use our shower or loo. 

Neither of us want to empty a chemical toilet so we just don't use it - even if it means traipsing across the site at 3am.  Don't use the shower because it's not very big and we would have to fetch loads of water.  If our caravan was available without the shower and loo we would have taken that option, but it isn't.  And having those facilities will help when it comes to sell it on, as not everyone thinks like we do.

Rhyd y Groes, Marton, Powys will have spacious hedged pitches - but they only opened last year so the bushes aren't very big yet. It's a beautifully clean site, much cleaner than any French ones I've stayed at.
