I'm sure it was just wee and not poo but it may be worth mentioning that human poo is one or the most toxic poos there is and needs to be disposed of carefully. It should never be left, buried or otherwise, closer than 65m from any source of water which implies that it needs to go down the loo or a proper disposal point if you're camping on a site.
Wee is harmless enough, particularly with all the rain we've been having this year washing it away but even so it shouldn't be thrown in the bushes but put into a "wet sump" which gets filled in every couple of days.

) having only been camping for a few years ourselves - I started off like you wondering how to make camping more comfortable etc...and asking questions about the very thing you have asked today!
It is basically a bucket with a toilet seat and a lid.. it has made our camping trip so much easier as we have two children...you can buy bags to put inside but these are expensive at £15 for 6 bags so we just flush in chemical disposal point each morning, clean and then disinfect . This works for us.
