Then you won't be able to use the THSs and the DA weekends which cost on average a fiver per unit per night. We have very rarely paid more than a tenner even on a club site as we get the over 55 concession. We can manage without all the modern gadgets when we have plenty of company and friends on site.

Yes, us too. Our age concession on Club Sites pays for the ehu in the low season which is the only time we need it (for the oil filled radiator).
And during the high and mid seasons, the Temp holiday sites and the DA's are just incredible value for money in this day and age when greed not quality rules the charges of an average campsite.

It is on the THSs and the DAs that you truly see the Membership working for the Membership.

I hear and read of others who are having to book a year in advance for their favourite pitches and then pay mega bucks for those pitches when we rarely book anywhere, pay under a tenner a night and yet are away caravanning at least two months each summer, health permitting.

I can honestly say that my membership of C&CC pays for itself many times over.

Yes, I understand why you are rightfully miffed but have you seen the price hikes for other types of holidays?

We thought about doing some B&B holidays early next year before the weather heated up enough to get the caravan out again and I nearly died when I saw the prices.

I was expecting to pay £20 or £30 for both of us for one night's B&B. Huh, in you dreams!!!! Double or treble that.

So paying £10, £15 or £20 a night plus the cost of the breakfasts is still the cheapest option for us as well as giving us so much more.

We renewed ours in September, only been members 5 years, hoping to use their sites more next year.

I'm becoming increasingly disillusioned with the C&CC. I think that a number of their sites are becoming a bit shabby in comparison with the Caravan Club, and I had a run-in with them over not being able to book a pitch over New Year until November. I agree that the prices for next season look a bit steep, and very confusing to work out too!

However, I like to keep my options open with regards to the CS network, so I will probably renew my membership for that alone.

I am in agreement with Lizzo. We are members of both clubs and find the C & CC sites to be a bit shabby. Pitches bare or churned up, grass and hedges not trimmed regularly enough etc.,

Will still renew our membership this time because we use the small CS sites, but we are definitly giving it serious thought.

Has anyone noticed Camping Miles have disappeared?

No mention of Camping Miles in the new "Your Place in the Country" so I phoned the C&CC to ask if they had been discontinued but was was told they would be honoured until June 2009 but they hadn't been told if they would be issued next year.
