i am for the swing ball infact i am for any games being played on campsites as long as it is during daylight hrs, we was on a campsite last Aug and at about 12 midnight some idiots thought it would be good to start kicking a football about, luckily enough it was far enough away from us not to be a danger but i could hear some choice words being said to some of the lads and shore enough a scuffle broke out and it was sorted out by some blokes giving these young lads a good telling off.
But anyway i wouldnt see a prob with swingball, i am with Lizzo i like watching parents get irate when they get beat infact thats me getting my but kicked by the kids LOL

The noise caused by children playing swingball during the day is probably less than some adults make after dark and other people are in bed.
We don't have any children but like to see them playing freely especially without DS's etc it is so infrequently seen. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Teenagers playing with a hard football between vans is different but little ones with a soft ball should be no problem to anyone.
Perhaps someone could conduct a test to see what force is needed to get a swingball ball to come off the tether. Hmmmm
I must admit there was a protocol for children playing, is it a new concept lol

Take the swingball with you im sure you'll have no problems we allways take games like this and in Germany last year got joind by Dutch family playing games. After all everyone moans about kids now aday and say they sit in front of tv and computers all day and then get up to no good so surely they would rather have them playing swingball.
We were at the Sandringham C&CC site at Easter 2007. There was no ball games allowed, a boy and his dad opposite us got told not to play swingball. Probably depends on the individual wardens take on no ball games and how long ago they were "trained" in stopping people playing ball games!
I can't see how any warden can object to swingball - as many others have said, it's the loose football/cricket ball etc that goes careering off into peoples cars/caravans that they don't allow.
It really does annoy me when people say they wouldn't want kids playing things like swingball next to their pitch...what ARE kids supposed to do on a camping/caravanning holiday then? Surely the whole point in parents taking them away is so that they get the kids out into the fresh air and not stuck infront of a screen all day...
People intolerant of children can usually choose to go outside of school holidays and to adult-only sites.
I'm not the most tolerant of parents and my kids don't get away with much - but I do try and loosen up on holiday. I think that if they make noise/run about/have fun during the day that's fine (as long as it's nowhere near other peoples units) but come sunset, they are with us either sat outside or inside.

We mainly use adult only sites now and the main reason for this is to avoid the dreaded footballs.Too many weekends away have been spoilt by footballs hitting the car, tent etc. The bbq went over once, luckily we weren't using it at the time.
After saying that there's no way i would object to anyone playing swingball near my tent. I like watching kids enjoy themselves, i'm a nana and not anti kids.
We use quieter sites not to avoid things like kids playing games like swingball but to avoid the parents who let their kids run wild with no thought to other people. The fact that you've even asked the question tells me you're not one of those.

I'm gladdened to hear that most people are pro swingball. I agree with so many posters in that a camping holiday for us is about getting the kids playing outside and away from electronic gadgetry. We have to admit to once or twice playing cricket with a lightweight ball (doesn't go very far) at the C&CC site at Sandringham, but it was on 2 empty pitches with trees on 2 sides and our tent on the third (the next closest unit was a fair way away.) We heavily supervised the kids and threatened serious consequences for anyone we thought might annoy our neighbours. We started off just playing with our 2 and withion 10 minutes there were another 10 kids playing. Within minutes they had organised themselves into 2 teams, allocated fielding positions etc and were playing very happily. It was so nice to see them playing cooperatively a good old fashioned outdoors game. I have to agree that if people seriously object to kids playing NICELY (and presumably those that do have grown up children or have not had them) then you do have the options of Adult only sites and not travelling in the school holidays (at much cheaper prices too). I hate badly behaved, unsupervised kids as much as the next person, but they do need to let off steam and burn off their excess energy - we were all young once! Thanks again for the voices of support. Have to say that I wouldn't ask the neighbours or the wardens because that gives people the opportunity to say 'no!' (Ooops - but we do try not to be bad neighbours - honest!)
