Yes, the prices are lower than normal pub prices, so happy campers here!

All the best,

John

Well at least we have given you some ideas for next year LOL and for all other site owners

Remember kids are not adults until they are 18 and once they become teenagers they become money pits, leaving some parents wondering where the money is coming from, I just wish the school hols where only 2 weeks instead of the 6 or 7 in the summer

Think along the lines of a unit price without any add one's that covers everything all year, without inflating the prices during the school hols  and you could be full all year, the price should start with a 2 and no more than 5 for the second figure a night per unit

And to all site owners please leave some room for caravans and tents

thank god the schools are back next week in Scotland

Well going to my local members only bingo hall tonight £1.00 a pint buy 1 get 1 free, then move onto the vody, a double quarter with mixer £1.00 buy 1 get 1 free

We camped at Plassay at Easter at very last minute.  It was more than we would normally pay but our first booked campsite had called us off due to the very bad rain.

We had problems with the slope of our pitch, the size (small and tight) and the mud plus we were not given the wooden boards that others had been given to track across the grass.  We were also right next to the dog walk entry which is a pain when you have two of your own dogs with you.  It might be argued that as the only non caravan on the site at the time (we have a folding camper) we may not have been getting comparable treatment however we did book  THE LAST REMAINING PITCH so that is more likely the reason for the poor pitch quality.  ( I would hope they only use that pitch when there are no others available)

I am not sure why others are using this forum to have a dig at the campsite.  At the end of the day you have a choice what to pay and where to book.  We went here purely as we were struggling to find anywhere and it was our first outing planned with our new Folding Camper.  In fact I think it is a miricle we got anywhere given the very short notice.  (We booked Easter Sat morning and were there by the afternoon)

The faclities seemed fine to me though had we had little kids I am sure they would have got more out of it.  Our 20 year old son brought his own dongle so wireless not an issue.

Did not use the pubs but did like the cheap but decent Sunday dinner in the club house.  (think it was about £8 for 3 courses but dont hold me to that)

Not sure we would go back though as there was a distint attitude from some of the other campers, all in posher caravans of course, though some people were friendly.  Even our poor dog (a rottie) brought some unfounded comments as one little girl was overheard talking to her grandma asking it that was the nasty dog she was on about and pointing to our dog.  (Our dog had barked as she walked passed with her dog.  Strangly the two little dogs in the caravan next door, also barking, and for a lot longer than ours, did not draw the same comments)

You can choose where you camp and are made aware of prices beforehand so can't really complain about that.

Im not reviving this thread just for the sake of it, but we've stayed at the Plassey on numerous occasions and the three of us love it. Yeah it costs a few pounds more than a lot of sites but the facilities are excellent.

We're lucky to see our ten yr old daughter for more than a couple of hours a day when at this site as theres so much for the kids (and adults) to do, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are always great, the food and drink in the club and golfclub are also cracking.

Think John's taking a bit of a hard time on here, he's obviously put a lot of thought and hard work into his site and we'll be visiting again as soon as possible
