Have you tried selecting "Club CL/CS" on Map Search?

I don't think you'll find all of them marked, and you'll have to check them individually to find out which are CLs (CC) and CSs (C&CC), but you'll get an idea.

My advice would be that unless you are intending to use the facilities that these clubs offer save your money. I have been a member of the C&CC for four years now and never stayed on any of their sites (my fault I know) but I have children to keep occupied and whilst we avoid the Havens of the world there are sites which provide a happy medium, plus every time I do enquire about a club site there is always little or no availability.

We're now finding that, although in both clubs for now,we're tending to use more "commercial" sites(..as you say, these don't need to be "Havenesque" in nature  )and the ones we've used are certainly no more expensive,in many cases they've been a lot cheaper

There are only 2-3 CC sites and 1 C&CC site that we now find ourselves using...

The bulk of sites we use now, have been found via the search on here.

(..you can guarantee though, that as soon as we drop one of the clubs,we'll need to use one of their sites for something local.. )

Why I'm thinking of joining is that for the first time we are in a position to go away for weekends (OH is now out of work) but can't afford to go to posh sites (OH is out of work).
I thought if we joined the CC we could go to these cheap CLs I've heard so much about, but we're not interested in the big posh sites. I've always booked sites myself - through books years ago and from this site nowadays. But - last weekend had lvely weekend at Robin Hoods Bay, but all the use we made of the facilities was to use the loos and the sink for washing up. Cost us £15 a night - whereas I gather CLs are much cheaper.

Well, some CLs are cheaper(we've paid £6-8 before now) but we've found this year that some are creeping up to the £12-15 mark(..which to me is "proper site" money).

But for the £30-40 it is to join a club though,it's worth a punt..

I think the problem is that some CL/CS sites have felt under pressure to improve their facilities and then have to charge the £12-15 fees to recoup their capital outlay.

However, there are still many lovely ones in the £10 bracket and even cheaper if all one needs is a CDP and a water tap. I really like 5 van sites, for the value and the variety, so I belong to both clubs.

Club sites with CC and CCC offer me as a single caravanner, good secure options, particularly if I need to stay nearer to a town.  I feel sometimes in a less rural area, it is good to have a few more people around!

I have CC Mayday top of the range recovery at £89  and I also insure my little van with CC, but like to have the option of using CCC sites too.

Both clubs send out a good value magazine each month as well. I can't imagine caravanning without my club memberships.

Belonging to the clubs extends  your options, at reasonable cost.
