We have stayed there a couple of years ago and we only used the place cos UKCS had a meet on this site.

I personally would not use this site - I think it had so many bad reviews that the owners requested the review faciltiy to be removed.

Agreed with CW52 - showers were terrible then and to know they are still bad is no surprise - they seem to look after the static side but not the touring - I won't use this site again - you even have to pay for those awful showers too by way of tokens

Isnt it great that we can all help and advise each other on this site.

So the conclusion is give Akebar a miss chrisneil.

I would like to apologise for ever recommending this site. I can only say that when I have used the site I found it adequate, although not always the cleanest it was not always the fault of the staff, they cannot be expected to follow campers around and either clean out the dish washing sinks or remove toilet paper stuck to the ceilings all day every day. However after this particular discussion appeared I have been back to check and found it disgusting and most of the staff I knew have also left.

This could be one of the best sites in the area but a major shake up is needed.

Once again I'm sorry to anyone who went on my recommendations.

Tell you the truth they done us a favour cos we toured after this and have visited some wonderfull sites . I remeber the owner driving round in a little blue van with his dogs following  behind , one day the dog poohed outside my van i told him he just shrugged is shoulders mmm nice eh x
