Try my favourite site in Argyll - the Red Squirrel in Glencoe. Lots of space, trees, the river Coe nearby, cracking scenery, campfires allowed and a good pub half a mile away with live music Sat nights.

I'd agree, but only if the OP doesnt want EHU. Another fav of mine is Kilasnaecon (sp?) at Kinlochleven which does have EHU.

Purely a technicality, Jim, but Red Squirrel in Highland, not Argyll. Wouldn't disagree with anything else you've said and love your photos!
To my mind, the problem with Argyll is that it's huge and varied, with differing experiences on offer. OP has to choose what she's happy with - there are always other opportunities.
Stay just up the road from these sites. Killegruer is the nicest one if your wanting beach side, but i wouldn't dismiss Machrihanish as its a lovely site thats a short stroll away from one of the best beaches in Scotland..
Carradale is the only one of the Kintyre sites I've stayed at and its the only CCC (?) site I've been to . I found it way too regimented for me but perhaps thats standard for CCC sites ( eg. key for toilet block ) and the tent pitches were furthest from the beach. Another consideration is that theres not much round about it and its on a particularly fierce single track road (esp.going south).
Also it looks out to Arran and the mainland whereas if you're on the west side of Kintyre you have views and sunsets over Gigha, Jura etc , depending where you are.
( Should add, because the sites on sandy soil, theres plenty of rabbits about.......that'll keep the dogs amused !!!)

Personally, i like to use sites that give you keys for the toilets- I have been on sites that are open to every passing Tom, Dick or Harry to wreck!

Seems to be a bit of confusion here - Carradale is certainly not a C&CC site; don't think it's even listed by them.
Beg everyones pardon, indeed Carradale is not CCC site , its a Caravan club site ( I did put a question mark after CCC because I couldn't remember which it was ).
Never did get the hang of which was which.

Having now checked in the Caravan Club directory I see the Carradale site is actually an Affiliated Site (AS) which means that it is privately owned and not managed directly by the Club. The AS sites seem to give a bit of a discount to CC members but having never been on one I don't know how much they mirror the usual CC site management and practices. So if this is the only CC site you've ever been on don't necessarily judge them all by that. Having said that, it does sound from your description pretty much like a lot of CC sites (even down to the toilet key). Does look quite nice in the photos though.
For Loch Lomond I would echo the recommendations of others Milarrochy Bay. It a superb site set right on the banks of Loch Lomond. We've not been back for a few years now but it sounds like the sort of place you're looking for.
For Argyle I would recommend Portban on the Kintyre Peninsula. We had a pitch right on the edge of the beach with views and sunsets over the Paps of Jura to "die for". It is very remote but if you want a beachside site in a tranquil setting it cannot be bettered.
