Hi Dazstan,

I am booked from wednesday 22 august 5 nights.  Was told first come first served and as we wont be arriving till after 5pm dont hold much hope.  I dont think I can risk it hoping we get EHU.  Its going to be very costly for us as I dont have non EHU cooking equipment and I dont have any friends can borrow off as they dont camp.  I bitting my finger nails chewing over this.

our set up is fridge, oven, cooker, heater, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, lights slow cooker etc.  To some its not the end of the world I just dont have non EHU euipment and my partner and kids will be cringing when I tell them.

We have just returned from flamingo land and would really have to favour non ehu at the moment as the site is chocka block around the electric hook up area whereas the non electric us very spacious and has a very chilled atmosphere. We normally go electric and I was panicking that I wouldn't cope but we just got a one ring gas cooker from go for 6.99 & used a cool bag with ice packs. They have plugs in the ladies so you can do your hair or blow up beds etc.
Its a great site and you really do get much more room for the kids to run around and play in the overflow tent field. We've had the best holiday ever :-)

I will let you know how I get on. My hope is that we are planning on arriving about 12:30 on Monday so may be in with a chance.

Fingers crossed.

Hi all...

We are booked for next week Mon 20th Aug and pre-booked and fully paid ages ago using the newspaper voucher.....Starting to get a tad concerned now after reading all of the above....We like some of the posters above just are not set up for non-ehu and now I'm starting to worry about this......

My question now is does anybody know what the earliest check-in time is ie the earliest time you can get to choose your pitch ?? We could even be there for 9am if needs be and we get the kids out of bed at daft o'clock and set off early....17

Also if there a separate area for the ehu and non ehu or are they just all mixed together ??

Hi,

After alot of discussions, and more phone calls to flamingo land today, as they are still stating they cannot guarantee a EHU pitch, we have decided we cant take the risk of taking all our EHU stuff and then not having a hookup! as we will be arriving late afternoon.  I really dont understand how you book in advance and pay and dont get a reserved pitch.

So after purchasing a gas cooker and bottle, ufo lights and kettle we are now going non EHU. We are really not happy but felt we had no choice, as we dont have room to cater for both scenarios.

Flamingoland have agreed to refund the £25 for EHU.

We booked in this morning at 09:45 and there were several campers already finishing off their setting up so they must have been here at least an hour before.

On the bright side we got the EHU we paid for and so far the kids have had a great time. The staff have been nothing but courteous and the facilities not too bad.

Hi all,

davynmel - check in time is from 9am and check out 2pm.

Hope you all have a lovely time!

Really wanted to go this month and October half term (bought the back issue's as thought it was such a good offer) Please let there be EHU for our booking in October.

How hard can it be for flamingo land to only sell EHU to people if available!

Thanks a lot for that info lisajaneh , if we set off early enough I'm sure we can be there for 9am , getting the twins out of bed at 6 may be a struggle though 17

Would be a disaster with no ehu so earlier the better by the sounds of it.....
