The mop and bucket had probably "borrowed" by someone to clean their groundsheet
Never a truer word...... we have just had this happen, got a complaint that the mop and bucket was missing from the ladies loo, on a hunt across the site where was the mop and bucket........ abandoned next to a pitch, full of mud and gunk that someone has just finished their stay so new mop and a clean of bucket required. We used to supply J Cloths too so that people could just wipe around the sinks when they had finished, alas after the 4th time they got stolen (i kid ye not!) we no longer provide them......

On a site I stayed on over the summer, someone on the the site was obviously a little poorly for a couple of days.
Now I know everyone gets poorly, has a dodgy tummy at some point, but if I'm ill I carry wipes with me and clean up after myself, and clean down areas before I leave them. I feel so sorry for the wardens that had to clean up after that Lady for the couple of days. There was one or more toilet being deep cleaned at least 5 or 6 times a day for those 2 days, never did find the culprit but I dread to think what state their own house is in.
------------- After a 3 year break the trailer tent is back in use. Here"s to 2016.
You really don't want to get me started on the ladies toilets.
Suffice to say, you want to try entering a cubicle where The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has just taken place, and the offending article ended up behind the toilet waste pipe, having been spread across all three walls en-route.
To just walk away and expect someone to clean this mess up was unforgivable, but I had no choice and as a bloke I could not comprehend the mentality nor self pride which was clearly missing!!!
Oh and Jakers, I caught someone cleaning their awning groundsheet with our showers mop and bucket (hence the comment) and when questioned they quite cheerfully said that they didn't think we would have a problem as they were only borrowing it.................give me strength!

Have to agree with all of the comments, its unbelievable the state people leave toilets/ showers and there lack of cleanliness and common sense.
Even cavemen cleaned out their caves, these people must go further back than that..
------------- It is a wise man who has something to say.
It is a fool who has to say something.
I don't envy campsite owners at all, so many campers appear to want beautiful facilities but are not prepared to treat them with any care at all; they want to use full SIG's and (also groundsheets outside their tents) for a week and then complain that the grass is dead and the pitch gets muddy; they want the toilets cleaned around their own personal toileting schedule; they expect the site to have 24 hour staff to deal with those who are noisy even though they haven't reported the noise because they "don't want to be involved"; they want to run their fan heaters all night in a tent because "they have paid for EHU"....and so much more...
AND more importantly they don't care what it costs to provide, clean, maintain, renew these facilities they only want to pay a tenner because "it's only a patch of grass and you can get a Travel Lodge for £29". Oh and they want to "name and shame" on here when they perceive that things haven't gone their way.
I sound a bit like a stuck record, but we are in danger of losing our small independent campsites who are struggling to make any money - we'll then be left with the big chains of "Holiday Parks" and then let's see what happens to prices when there is little competition...
Pigletandtigger The problem is the people who should read this thread won't and even if they did it wouldn't enter there heads it mean them . But well said anyway

You work here don't you?? ( joke!!!) But seriously you sum this up fantastically Piglet, at times we are in a no win situtaion.
I will balance this slightly and say that for every customer who states what you say above there are at least 3 customers whom do understand and do take good care of things and will address their concerns if they have any.... sadly these people over the years are becoming less and less. We try on our site to sum it up in one word, RESPECT, and really that's all it takes we respect our customers their wants and needs and thus ask that they respect us and our park the same, a sad refelection on society when there is no respect tho from adults and children alike
Its just a few bad apples as usual. It always seams to be those that see camping as " A cheap holiday " rather than people who come away because they like being close to nature and the simplicity of the camping & caravanning lifestyle.
The " someone's employed to clean up after me " attitude winds me up no end they tend to be the ones who bring 3 cars for one pitch because they have bought a full size fridge, microwave and tv with them ( what ever happened to a Trangia and a portable radio ) but thats a whole other thread...
------------- Anything i say on here are my own personal views and nothing to do with any campsite or company......

LOL, you can tell I grew up in a tourist town working in shops and restaurants can't you?!
You're are of course right though about balance, I find this forum much less balanced than it used to be though, there are more likely to be "I can do what I like" threads than there ever used to be, maybe I'm just getting old and cynical!

I find that really annoying. Why do people do it?
I gave up on this one one here, there are loads of threads with people saying it's perfectly OK to wear your normal outdoor shoes into the shower because the shower washes them off.
I wear flip flops in public showers but I don't wear the flip flops outside.
