I know its not Cornwall and is basic site but we booked here for 14 nights for £168

Treloy near Newquay is a lovely site with pool and play area , also very reasonably priced as Cornwall goes.

I was told that when I started looking at Cornwall 2 years ago and personally, I think on the whole, it is not true.

Sure, there are those sites who will gladly surprise you from behind, pull your trousers down and have their way but there are also some very pleasent sites which cost no more than any other part of the country.

We ended up at Treen Farm which is one of the best sites I have ever been to although as you say, if you require a Pool, bar etc then you will pay through the nose at most places.

You can still get some bargains.

We have just paid £12 for 2 nights at Searles in Hunstanton.
Our 4 year old son wanted to go camping for his birthday and I managed to get this price last night by phoning up, online it was £37 for the 2 nights at the end of June, for a 10x8m tent pitch, no electric etc, but that includes passes etc so we're happy with that!

Hi  Every site is different. We charge the same for tents and caravan+awning as our prices are based on the number of people.

By the way Sammy have you looked at us for your search for a site with Pool in Cornwall. We heat our Pool to a lovely warm 28oC. Some days its warmer in than out!

We have just discovered DA meets with C and CC and Temp holiday sites. Just done 3 nights for 26 squidlets. No EHU but a solar panel helped with that..One of our best trips away!

We're booked into Gwithian Farm in Cornwall at the beginning of July, for 2 adults, 2 kids and a toddler it's £24 a night.

I did get some shocking prices as well tho, we're having a week in Cornwall and a week in Devon and was getting some prices of £350+ a week from some sites in both areas.

I think it depends on the quality of the campsite as well, and the area your visiting.

For example, we always stay in the Perranporth area and over the years have looked on different campsites, but the preferred choice for us is Perran Springs Holiday Park near Goonhavern, just because there is a lot of space and the shower, toilet facilities are just like being at home - very clean and tidy. So we have kind of made this our favorite site to re-visit when in this area.

In terms of price they are always very competitive for that area as well, and NO hidden extra charges which is a big plus for us. (As we found a number of other sites do charge) for example they provide free showers, free battery charging, free freezer packs etc (so check out for this when booking, as showers can add up over the week).

They don't have a pool, which i guess keeps the costs down compared to some others in the area, but then again why do you need a pool when you have the nice beaches a few minutes down the road? After all, the main attraction of Cornwall is going in the sea, not a pool that I can do at home....
