Hi MankySteve, back from Eskdale C&CC yesterday - what a lovely area! Bit of a trek, round the bottom road - took us 1hr 30mins from jct 36 on M6! Slow winding roads so takes longer than you think. Didn't get chance to do the Hardknott pass so cannot comment but heard people saying it was very hairy and road is in a poor state at moment with big potholes. It was another 1hr 15 on A65 from M6 to Otley so add a bit more on for you. It's further/ longer than you think to that part of the lakes, but well worth it, we loved it and will go back. Have fun!
