Just to put you in the picture from a camp site owners perspective ![ oh and we are not the one under scrutiny previously discussed, we do answer all our enquiries constantly and within 24hours]
Woke at 7am,
Replied to 20 e-mails
Then went to check all guests were happy, titivate wash rooms, toilets, kitchen area,Laundry, disabled room ,etc
Supervised daughter and took to school.
Saw departures off between 9 and 11[ they have to check out as we take a deposit for the barrier key.]
Cleaned out two of our Glamping pods.
Moved bins for collection, strimmed 3 fields, mowed 1 camping areas and dog field. Popped in and out of reception and in the processes answered further e-mails and phone enquires. Helped on site guests with directions to best beaches etc
Clean washrooms etc
Cut a hedge ,with intermittent unexpected visitors wishing to have a tour of the site.Picked up daughter from School, at some point gave her tea!
Greeted arrivals throughout afternoon and evening
Between 9am and 6pm answered about 40+ telephone calls.
managed to squeeze in a brief walk for the dogs. Currently we are receiving about 10 to 15 e-mails an hour. and the phone is going non stop. We strive to reply to all e-mails within 24 hours and do aim to achieve this.
It is possible that when an enquiry phones a campsite, they are either out maintaining the site, helping a customer, seeing off a departure or greeting a new arrival. In our instance, our phone message asks enquires to complete our booking form and we reply within 24hours, as opposed to leaving a message to phone back. If we went for this option our phone bill would be horrific!
As a small family run caravan and camp site, just husband and wife [+ young daughter ]It is a 24 hour business. Please,I am not complaining by any means, but just would like to perhaps explain to those that may not be aware of the work load private non warden run caravan and camp have to carry. For 8 months of the year small parks work almost 20 hours a day, doing all jobs. They are on call to site guests 24 hours a day, 8 months of the year. Why not employ someone to help, you may ask.
Due to the terrible almost 5 seasons of late, most sites like ourselves are not in the position to employ anyone at present.
Went to bed last night at 1am after checking site again. Tea what tea!!!!!
I started writing this late last night and fell asleep in the process!! hence posting today.
In representation of the smaller campsites, many are extremely passionate about their business, and do reply to all.
We hope this may have helped somewhat to explain the day to day running of many caravan and camp site and perhaps why a call on occasions may not instantly be picked up.[
.

Ok so you are busy. But you still replied to the emails. If other site managers are busy and do not want to answer emails don't publish an email address.
