Ewen, Prestwick Holiday Park is not in Monkton at all, it is nearer to Prestwick than Monkton and the pavement from the site to Prestwick airport train station has recently been completely renewed.

VangoMan, technically there is only one site in Ayr.

Phew Ewen glad we got the boundary of Prestwick sorted, and here was me thinking everyone who came from Prestwick knew that the Pow Burn was the boundary   

Now who is going to tell the owners of Prestwick Holiday Park that they need to do some serious re-branding. No one I suspect

It looks like folk wanting a pitch so they can go to the Commonwealth Games may have to set aside the niceties of always wanting to avoid static, or noisy, or expensive, or shady, or cramped, or badly reviewed sites, or whatever the usual criteria. Maybe even go without EHU. Just this once, if going to The Games is the objective. It's a pity. I live in walking distance of the Ayr train line and now I'm  wondering how many tents I could fit into my back garden and wondering if the neighbours would notice a second motorhome parked at the front (...just joking).

I drive past one new-ish CS on the edge of Troon, there's another (unreviewed) CS inland from Ayr, there's another small site beside the railway in Troon, and at least the Prestwick (or is it Monkton, but who really cares?) site gives access to the lovely beach and views of Arran at sunset - Ayrshire has a holiday coast, after all. There's one site in Irvine at the country park but it lacks EHU. As has been said, map search is the best way.
