£45.50 a night for a caravan pitch when you can stay in a travel lodge for £29 a room. Umm let me think about that one lol

Yes but try getting a travelodge room for £29...rare as hens teeth and when you find one it is a doss house in the middle of nowhere.

However...for £45.50 you could get quite a decent B&B, clean sheets, interior sprung mattress, full English breakfast, en suite bathroom, no towing, no erecting...and hopefully no bugs!

The average price for a B&B is around £30+ pp, for 2 thats £60+ on top of that you have pay for lunch and dinner, I dont think you would get much change out £80 per day, of course if camping you have to eat but self catering is a lot cheaper than cafe' s or restaurant' s

Who would want to stay in a Travelodge when you have a campsite with the freedom to roam, enjoy the outdoors, etc. Well I suppose folk that like to sit in a dark room !!

I find that if I like a site, but it is too expensive, I vote with my feet and stay elsewhere.

comparing a hotel to camping is like comparing why someone would use a motorbike or a car, horses for courses but I would rather pay 45 a night in the great outdoors on a campsite than 30 for a dingy room !!

You could look at small CL, Cs type sites behind a pub, they usually cost between £10 and £16 a night. We don't ever spend over £20 a night and usually a lot less. We do always use our own facilities and rarely go to the toilet block though.
Stayed at Conwy touring park a few years ago when we had a tent it was £18 a night, stay for 4 nights pay for 3 I think and they have a club. Its just about good research, there are loads of reasonably priced sites that will fit your criteria, you just have to do a bit of searching. J x

Idon't really understand where the OP is coming from , unless they want loads of facilities, especially in Wales. We mostly use farm or back garden type sites and aren't fussy about flash facilities as long as they are clean, We rarely pay more than £15 per night and many we use are under £10, one of our most used sites on Anglesey has just put the price up to an eyewatering £4pppn, so £8 for us.

We have one exception which is a site we have used for years, in Cornwall it costs £26pn, but is worth it for the fantastic facilities, hosts and location

Our site is just outside Llandrindod Wells, which is Mid Wales, £12.50 a night for 2 adults with electric. We have lovely clean showers/toilets and even provide washing up liquid! All sites are different and offer different things which appeal to different people, but cheaper sites are out there, you just have to look

Visit Llandrindod Wells! Great scenery, walks, cycling, red kites. Ideal for exploring Mid Wales.

Hi keigcf, is this your OWN site or are you camping? I'd be interested in a visit to Llandrindod.
