Llanddwyn Island is one of my favourite places on Anglesey, that and the Rhoscolyn area (further north on Holy Island). Look out for the Celtic fields, ancient small almost sqaure fields, on the island. It does become cut off at spring tides, and you do have to pay to drive down through the forest, but even stingy OH had to admit that it was well worth it.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
It's definitely worth paying to drive down through the forest Anne, it's a heck of a long walk otherwise. Even walking through the warren is a long way too.

Llanddwyn is a great place and has a real feeling of calm to it and the sheltered coves can be great places for a bit of sunbathing or a picnic even early in the year as they are very sheltered. Walking around the Warren, through the woods or up the estuary to Maltraeth is definitely worthwhile.
Your original post and my suggestions has prompted us to also decide on staying at Awelfryn for two weeks, beginning the 27th June this year, so thanks for that, lets just hope for some decent weather and maybe we'll see you there, we'll be the ones in the green lavvu.
