Black Knowl Caravan Club site. In the New Forest. Straight from the site into the woods amongst nature.

Invercoe Holiday Park outside Glencoe Village on the banks of Loch Leven and overshadowed at the rear by the mighty Pap of Glencoe. Can do this run in just over two hours on a good day and strongly recommend it to our Southern Softie Caravan Brothers.

Well run family site now taking over by the second generation. Spotless well manicured and supervised by a ever vigilant Owner/Warden whom I have got to know personally over the years of touring here.

The surrounding scenery is just outstanding having the highlands all around you. Walking distance for food and a pint and also has a small well run Cafe in the village. Handy CoOp in Ballachulish 20 to 30 minutes walk away selling everything you could need...... I have just returned after a weekend stay and was just so peaceful. Be warned though High Season this site can get very busy with the one night tenters and would advice to Book in advance.

I stayed here a few times over 20 yrs ago and I have to say it is still one of my favourite places on God's earth. I found the view of Glencoe first thing in the morning the most stunning view I think ive ever seen.

It might just be long overdue a wee return trip up there later this year.

Couple a wee Gems in Kintyre .. Muesdale for peace and quiet right on the shore but only cater for up to a dozen tourers... Further up the road Killiegruer again shore side pitches.

Basic but spotless facilities on both sites. The views and sunsets over The Paps of Jura are just breathtaking, sea otters sometimes at the entrance to the River Barr as they chase the salmon up the river. Seen many a Porpoise swim past but the good thing about this site is its cost which I personally think is reasonable priced.

Killigruer can get busy at high season due to the Surfing Fraternity so again Book in advance...

Get yersell up there..... Few wee changes since your last visit. The site has opened up slightly with the addition of 4 or 5 Hobbit Huts that seem very popular. Smashing facility to be honest.

The Warden has reclaimed a few hard standing pitches at the shore front looking over Loch Leven. Used to like pitching on here for a extra £2 as you could see the waters edge from the comfort of your seat in the van but has since had to build a retaining wall now obscuring the view from a seated position so prefer up the back for more panoramic views.

Facilities are much the same clean and tidy. Shop offers a wider variety of basic goods but at a rather inflated price if I have to be honest. Now also has Wifi at a cost and you can get most free view channels via your omni caravan arial and also good clear mobile reception

Has also installed Midgie Eaters as I call them. Strategically placed green bins that gives off a slight odour attracting the Dreaded Midgie as far as I'm led to believe. Does not eliminate the wee blighters completely but being shore side I have had very few problems with the wee tourist loosing monsters...

Have to agree with Invercoe in Glencoe and the Carradale site on the Kintyre penisula.

I don't know yet, I haven't tried them all.

We have been to Wallace Lane Farm in Cumbria 3 times though. it's nothing fancy, a nice field with a nice loo block. It suits us because if we go with non- tent owning folk (imagine ), their glamping pods are in the same field so we can all be together. Also, it's clean and peaceful with a fabulous view and feels like one as soon as we get there.
