Don't forget about us 'Crumblies'. We've done our bit, the kids have flown the nest, but now living on pensions, we too feel the effects of high prices. At least we can choose when we want to go, but for some commercial sites, the price difference between high & low season isn't huge.

We've recently enjoyed stays at Grantown on Spey (immaculate site) for £28 a night and Aberlour Gardens for £25 a night - expensive for a very basic, but friendly & well kept site. I think we'll give it a rest now till the English kids go back to school (mid August in Scotland) and prices drop.

I would agree that as the theme park entry is included that's not actually a bad price to be honest - I think most people would do there to go to the theme park.

I think that for certain campsites you are looking at £35+ a night, so that's £24 for all of you for entry to the theme park per day - quite a saving.

I also agree that you can find campsites in a cheaper bracket with good facilities - weve found quite a few - especially as £59 p/n is way out of our price range (we also don't go to theme parks as our children aren't keen on them and we can't afford to take them).

I think it's not bad if youre planning to use the park everyday - if not look elsewhere and it should be cheaper :)

Even if a site is (say) £40 for a family of four, that's still only £10 a night.

Have pity on the singletons who quite often get precious little discount on sites where you can easily be paying £16/night. (Yes, choice can come into it but not for people like me who camp in conjunction with our hobby - providing safety cover on events - with fixed dates and locations.) Thankfully, I'm only paying £14 for two nights (sans the hook-up I don't need) next Friday and Saturday!

True, it's not cheap for singletons but usually out of a family of 4 there are only one or two earners so the price is favourable when you compare to that.

With such variety in types of campsites and pricing structures hopefully everyone is able to find something in their budget they are happy with.

I am so glad we don't have to stick to school holidays anymore and I do sympathise with crumbles and singletons. Having had a look at the woodlands website there is a great deal to be had for adults who fancy visiting outside the school holidays:-

*For adult holidays we offer the Adults Midweek Special 5 nights at £54.00 For two adults over 21 + motorhome, caravan, tent or trailer tent + car + electric hookup + awning + the dog + the kitchen sink!! Normal booking conditions apply. Stay 5 nights Sunday night through to Friday morning for just £54.00 arriving any Sunday within the following dates:

Sunday 29th March to Sunday 17th May 2015
Sunday 31st May to Sunday 19th July 2015
Sunday 30th August to Sunday 25th October 2015"

It's worth looking at the specialised listings for sites which do special offers because there are bargains to be had.
