The op wants to stay on the campsite indefinitley, yes? So presumably the way forward would have been to book the same pitch in advance in 28 day blocks moving off & either stopping in a layby or another campsite for one night between 28day blocks, yes?
Presumably what they were doing was stopping 28days then booking another 28days assuming they could do this indefinitely, ie first refusal on pitch they were on & did not realise that the pitch could be booked by another member?
I don't think a seasonal pitch neccesarily allows permanent living. Presumably op is after full timing at cheapest possible site rates so joined C&CC to do that. So If site allows it then op needs to book pitch in 28day blocks in advance as suggested.
Or possibly the op simply got the wrong end of the stick & assumed they could stay on the site for as long as they kept paying & just leave the site for 1 day in 28 keeping caravan on pitch? They do state they have nobody to tow caravan.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
I read this that he/she didn't have to move the van after the fist 28 days, just be off site and the van left on the same pitch classed as "in storage".
Gets around the rules I guess. However site is now fully booked for Easter.
If you’re looking for flexibility when it comes to finding a seasonal pitch, the Club has a host of options available to you. You can leave your unit on a Club Service Pitch throughout either the summer or winter season or on selected sites all year round. The pitch fee also includes the hire of electric hook-up and a hardstanding, making it an option for those who want to reduce the time they spend towing.
Alternatively, the Club also offers part-seasonal pitches for both spring and autumn with the fee again inclusive of an electric hook-up and a hardstanding.
Some benefits of Seasonal Pitches benefits include
•You won’t need to tow your caravan or trailer tent each time
•Having a home-from-home
•Become part of a community of like-minded people
To apply for summer, year round or part seasonal pitches, please fill in the application form.
To apply for winter seasonal pitches, please fill in this application form

Possibly the OP was not on a selected site. Another reason for not joining the supposedly friendly club.
Probably find the person who got the pitch gets it every year. Because they are friendly with the warden.

You could be right. That was one of the reasons we cancelled our membership with the CCC many years ago. Noticed some pitches lying empty for days and then "old friends" arriving and getting these pitches. Usually they are the best pitches. We noticed this on a few sites during our years membership.
If you asked if you could move on to one of those pitches
you were given various excuses.
------------- It is a wise man who has something to say.
It is a fool who has to say something.
only use the CS sites anyway.
Main sites are to costly for what you get.
I can get a week at haven for, less than the price of a weekend on a CCC site.

I wonder if the OP is on a Camping in the Forest site which is run by the C&CC as their rules are slightly different. This quote is from their seasonal pitch application form:
SEASONAL PITCHES
The unit may be occupied on Site for recreational purposes only,
subject to a maximum stay of 21 nights. An interval of 48 hours
must elapse before the next visit is undertaken.
Please note, some schemes may not cover the Easter Period.
Perhaps the OP could clarify what sort of site he is on and if he has a seasonal pitch agreement.
