I still can't help but wonder how many families have been put off our lovely pastime by all the "extras" that some sites charge for these days. I know when I was young with a family it was the fact that you just paid for a pitch regardless that got us into camping, then caravanning.
I can see both sides of the argument however, especially as there is now only two of us and a small dog. It's sites that charge for dogs that put us off these days. I hate to think what we would have to pay today for two adults, three kids, and two dogs! It would probably put us right off.
